Problem is you have to fit the housing to the wheel. you just cant bolt a wheel on with out fitting it to the housing. Buy a new turbo keep the stock for a spare

will you give him the money for a new turbo? It sounds like this guy is looking for a low price range mod...

You all have good suggestions but the question was what can you do to a stock charger to make more power.

Well then, if you change the wheel and go with a more aggressive fin pitch or count you can drasticly change the airflow of the turbo without changing the depth of the fins too much, in some cases very little if any machining to the internals of the compressor housing would be required.

The other thing that you could do is find a boost fooler to put on the turbo to fool the wastegate into opening later thus creating more boost and reducing EGT's. But keep in mind that the stock turbo's are only so effective in stock form, much over 32psi of boost and all your creating is a high amount of drive pressure and lots of heat.

Hope this helps,
Wade

fin pitch needs to fit housing how ever you want to look at it too lose builds heat to tight you have a crash. tip height pitch and blade count all add up to how the wheel perform. Save your money buy a new Turbo or keep it stock or you might be buying a new turbo and an Intercooler. There is alot more to turbos then meets the eye. I know he is trying to keep the cost down. stay stock stay happy or buy a new turbo that fits your needs. Leave the stock one alone unless you are going to send it in for someone to do the rework on the turbo. Good luck for what ever you decide
