Stereo System

It now sounds like a rolling concert. 17 speakers in the cab. All in factory locations, no cutting.

(2) 3 1/2" Infinity 2 way speakers in the dash locations.
(2) 6X9" Kenwood 4 way speakers in the front door locations
(2) 6 1/2" Kenwood 2 way speakers in the rear door locations
(1) 10" MTX sub in a Qlogic box under right rear seat in cargo space.

The MTX 240 watt amp is under the drivers seat(bridged to 2 ohms producing 480 watts now), and the factory stereo made way for a 200 watt Kenwood CD player with remote.

All in all it sounds very clean, lots of volume when necessary, strong bass when it needs it, and the sound fills the cab from all directions.

How are you using the amp? Is it running just the sub or sub + speakers?

Do you have the cargo floors under the rear seats?

Would you be able to describe how you wired up the 3.5's in the dash. I"m thinking of almost the same set-up but would be using a set of components in the front doors being the only difference.

6 x 9's are the factory size in the doors, if you remove the door panels, you shall see a very cheapo pair of 6 x 9's.

the amp is bridged, running the 2 6 x 9's and the 2 6 1/2's on the front 2 channels, speakers in parallel. the rear channel is bridged running the sub. 2 4 ohn speakers in parallel make 2 ohms, and if your amp is 2 ohm stable, you double your power.

the 3 1/2's are running off of the head units front outputs. the 3 1/2's have built in crossovers. head units front output is 50 watts each side.

i did not have cargo boxes under the seat in the rear.

did you tune the system using a test disc? i would not run that many speakers without some sort of time correction feature on the headunit.

Due to the location of the speakers...I don't think there will be much of a timing issue. They are all close to the same distance to the driver. Overkill...

Glad to see there are other audiophile freaks out there!

I ment timing delay/control between mid/tweets would be overkill...not a sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet system.

Sounds (no pun) like a potential Frankensteined disaster. Unless you select transducers with a similar "voice", then EQ them properly you're going to have a mish-mash sounding system. Trust me on this one.

You can get either a crossover or a simple bas blocker cap from Crutchfield that will wire inline on the posative lead and filter out low frequencies.

Probably 200-400 hrtz high pass would be best depending on the speaker. Maybe higher.
