Got mine from Steelbiz in Weyburn, SK, Canada. Was $245CDN so not that cheap. Doesn't work too good at the moment as it is sitting in the back of my subaru. This weekend.

Installation tip for the steering stabilizer. When you have it all installed and tightened down, loosen the two bolts that hold the bearing to the stabilizer, and make sure they will move easily in the holes. This quick check will make sure you are not putting a side load to the steering box. If the bolts will move up and down in the holes by hand, tighten them back up and enjoy.

You are correct about the tightening sequence, but my point is to make sure that the bolts will actually move up and down in the holes before tightening them. After I installed mine, I took the truck out for a few lock to lock turns and loosened the block bolts up again just to check it, but I can be sort of **** that way.

Frame flex? really? There is a welded cross member about 12 inches behind the steering box and a bumper in front of it. I would like to see this flex of which you speak.

I think the flex may be between the box and the frame rail that its mounted to. GM products at one time were prone to blowing out the frame rail between the bolt holes...

I plan to add a stabilizer to my truck at some point as well. My 2005 has 140K miles on it and has surprisingly tight steering. Nearly as good as new but I would put a stabilizer on for preventative maintenance. The 2000 dually I had before this truck felt like a Model T and it only had 100K miles on the clock.

I put on a custom diesel steering brace $119 on my 94 3500 2x dually 112k - after first replacing ball joints with moogs- wheel bearings -turned roters and was very happy with a near new tightness now! Big diff in the size and quality of the greasable moogs.

Where did you get this steering brace? I'm interested in researching if it could work on my 1st gen.
