stainless fender trim
What is the easyest and best way to take off the cummings emblem off the front of the fenders so I can get the trim on without scratching my fender all up. Also what did you use to attach them, did you attach with screws or without. Thanks alot.
I used a heat gun and some fishing line to remove the Cummins emblem. Be carefull to much heat and the plastic will crinkle. A hair dryer on a hot day will do the trick also.
As for attaching the trim itself I used aluminium rivets.
I took my fender trim off due to they were chaffing into the paint. I still have the marks on the wheel wells.
To reattach the Cummins emblem get some double sided tape from the a local auto body shop.

I used the wife's hair dryer (hot but won't melt anything like heat gun) and a cloth against the paint and SLOWLY pulled away emblem with flat head screw driver as it came unglued. Used goof off cleaner to get the rest of the glue off of the paint. Didn't harm paint in anyway. Then had to go and get some more 3-m adhesive to restick emblem properly.
