Hey guys, I just received my Stage 3 kit and need some tips on installation. First, why are the controller wires and boost hose so short??? They are only like 2-3 feet long, so every one of them will have to be spliced to reach from the cab into the engine bay (am I missing something?)

I'm going to tap into my windshield washer reservoir. What kind of sealant do you use to prevent leaking thru the bulkhead? Which fuse did you tap into for the pump? Where did you locate the pump (any pictures?). I think that's all for now. Thanks for the help.

Yes, everything is too short. I had to extend the wiring and the vaccum line. I didn't use the washer reseviour but I would think plain old silicone would work. You can check out my gallery for where I put everything.

Thanks guys.

One thing to think about using the washer reseviour is that if you still intend to use it to clean the windshield as well, you won't want to mix any methanol in with it and be spraying all over your truck. That's why I went with the set up I did. It's a fuel cell for a junior dragster that I had to modify a little.

Actually, windshield washer fluid is usually about 30% methanol anyway. That's why a lot of guys use it for a reservoir.

Some is only 10% methanol, it depends. I think his point was that you don't want to add more methanol and then spray it all over your truck. Windshield washer fluid has a lot of other ingredients in it besides just water and methanol though. All those surfactants are going directly into your motor. Shake a bottle up and you'll see what I mean.

I think you'll find the reservoir is a little small too. A good 6gal tank is the smallest I would use. I like the tank and pump to be installed in the toolbox so they're locked away. There's some pics of that setup in my gallery under the '93 pics.

Yes, I know. But if you're like me, you would never settle for 30% and would be adding to it.

Good point. Now you guys have me thinking about mounting it under the bed like Omaha's. Plus I can get a bigger tank.
