southbend 3250 dd help
I finally got enough saved up to have a sb dd put in my truck yesterday. I have ridin in dd clutch trucks and expect them to be noisy but this sound is driving me nuts. Had it installed by a well respected shop and me being a mechanic myself will never throw anyone under the bus because we all are human. But anyway you put the truck in fifth normal driving and it growls bad til you reach about 2 thousand rpm I was just wondering if this is normal? I called the shop and got the answer I thought I would which is yes but this seems excessive. I figured foot off the pedal in gear it wouldnt make a sound. I dont really care aslong as its normal I just need some reassurance I love the fact it doesnt slip and will live with the growl. Thanks in advance sorry for the long post
I get no growl in gear but it is pretty dang loud when idling in neutral. Sometimes a quick press and release of the clutch pedal helps reseat things and it doesn't rattle nearly as loud. So far I love it. I would get a little slip when getting on it with the Smarty on SW9 until it broke in. Now it's just power to the ground! My rear tires hate life.
