i just heard about some people that have smoke switches on their trucks. i think it basically just shuts off the turbo? does it cause in problems to a truck and is there anything special you need to install one?

There is a smoke switch that tells the computer yoru at full boost and it freaks out and dumps more fuel. It works awesome and makes the turbo spool super fast, but I'm pretty sure doing it on a stock truck will just throw codes. Its a common mod to quadzilla chips.

the switch will only smoke from like a take off where you have no boost up until you make enough to clear it out but it def makes it take off alot faster if you push it when taking off it will make tires break loose on just the 60 hp setting

Thats true, with mine on 100, I can flip the switch and floor it and break the tires loose going 30MPH with 35's and a flatbed.

Any chip that plugs into the MAP sensor will work. TST, MP-8, Edge Juice/EZ, Quad, etc. etc. Without a box, it will just cause a CEL and defuel.

No, the boost fooler will tell the ecm that your boost is at a safe , lower boost than actual, thus fueling more = higher than stock boost.
With a module and smoke switch, it'll see really high boost, then the module will dump alot more fuel without the ecm seeing out of range boost values, thus no cel.

yeah and its good to put a 10ohm resistor inline just so the ecm doesn't see absolute high boost and only sends like a 4.8v to the ecm instead of the full 5v. Keeps my check engine light from coming on if say i was to keep it on longer than like 1 minute.

It won't my lady left mine on one day driving around town, she called me crying when it wouldn't start (truck won't start if the switch is fliped) She had just fliped it and forgot. She said she drove around atleast 10 minuts with it on.
