do the smarty updates from mads make more power. Or do they just change fueling aroud? And if so how much power do they make from each other.

All of the current releases 4.11 make the same (or very similiar) power #'s...it's just the delivery that changes with the boost fooling and tq mgmt options...

Going from stock turbo mild tq mgmt to aftermarket wild tq mgmt is definately a night and day diff for delivery!

I think he was asking about the 4.11 VS previous versions.
The answer to that would be, yes. The 4.11 feels more powerful. It has a broader and smoother power curve.

So how do I know which one to download..... I just got my smarty. Have it on #6 right now... #7 there was a bit too much clatter in the valves for me. This is stock smarty programming.

and don't know if it matters which of the last two I download? My truck is 06-06 if it makes a difference?

You will want the bottom one I think. The s-06 is for the later years. Im guessing they are the same less one will do the 03 trucks.

If you just recieved your Smarty, it has the most recent Software, mild tm.

Should you want moderate or wild tm, you will have to download off the site, unless you have the new REVO?

Nope.. almost 100% sure its not the revo. Just dl'd the bottom one from that page... we'll see how it works in the morning. Gonna try #7 with the new tune and see if the clatter is gone on WOT

I have my original programming in my Smarty that I purchased in Oct 2006. It smokes like a freight train but makes great power. I run it on level 9 all the time......towing, whatever.


Mine is a "s04". Does that mean I can't "download" from the "s06" programs?

Will any of the newer programs make more max power than my older version? Or just bring on the power differently only. I hear the newer version reduce the amount of smoke......which I would like to do.

Can anybody help me with this and maybe suggest a "program" for me? I am no computer expert, but I did get a "smarty" file started on my computer with some of the downloads necessary to complete the actual version download.

I have one of the original S-04 Smartys also, unless you are having issues, DO NOT CHANGE!

The new softwares are smoother, but that first Smarty 3rd gen, .............

............... once you change, you can not get it back.


From the original, to the 411, everything in between I do not miss.

So JJ, you think I should keep my old smokey original version?

Why wouldn't I want to go to one of the 411 programs?

I am tired of having soot all over my travel trailer, but I love the level 9 and don't want to lower it. Also, currently im still on the stock turbo but hoping to upgrade that next.....then maybe injectors, studs, cp3...fwiw.

Any other opinions?

I believe the new 411 software is superior to the original. The driving manners, shifting(auto trans), all is better.

The shear / raw power of the original programming is not present. Once you upgrade, you cannot go back. Some of the beta's are close to the original, as far as pure "race", that was not, and is not, my objective.

I am 100% satified with the new software dated 12/13/07, and you have to stick with the S-04 programs, do not worry, I believe they are equal to the S-06 programs.

Load up "aftermarket turbo stock injector" software, that will get you the boost fooling you need for your 04.5, and it also fuels the hardest. I would go with wild tm, I see your sig.

Thanks for the info JJ. Are you suggesting the 'wild tq mgmt' since I have a built trans now? Are their any other concerns (besides the trans) by going to wild TM?

And this software (the version you listed above) will be smoother, less smokey, but still just as powerful on max power as my antique software?

Sorry for all the questions...im just trying to get a cram course in Smarty softwares.......and catching up to where I should have already been.

YES, The 411 wild is going to feel like the first adjustable, original mild/moderate, but it is deceiving.

I love it, max hp increased from original on the dyno(alot), It is so smooth, that it seems mild, just make sure you are pointed straight ahead, when you drop the hammer, hang on tight!

What are the odds of a stock turbo exploding with the wild tq management? I know i have to watch egt's but can i kill my stock turbo other ways?
