Smarty Torque Management

Okay, so I'm finally going to get around to playing with the Smarty this afternoon/evening since I've got some time. I haven't taken this bad boy out of the box yet and wanted to get a little feedback since I didn't get a lot of takers on the Edge JA/Smarty post I had on here earlier.

I'm going to TRY and stack the Smarty and Edge JA (which apparently doesn't work well with some/all 2006 . . . ) - or just turn the JA down to 0.

With just the Smarty (and Edge at 0), what are you all running HP and TQ Mgt with a stock tranny? I am going to get the tranny built here in the near future, but curious to see what others are doing and how long they've been doing it with a stock tranny.

Setting suggestions and advice before I go too crazy? Thanks!

Thomas

Wouldn't run over sw 3 on a stock tranny, and keep the tm on 1(stock), unless you just really want that tranny soon

Don't think anyone is going to give you any better advise than that.

That's kind of what I figured - better safe than sorry. I still haven't put the Smarty on yet, but I'm getting ready to. Something tells me that after I start playing around with it I'm going to want to upgrade the tranny sooner than I had planned!

Agreed with all the above....and if you have the means, you'll be getting the trans real quick...

I have been on tq2 and sw3 for awhile now, and for some reason I have decided to just start playing around with to see what works best. Right now I am running tq1 and sw5 just to see how it runs. It seems like our trannys are hit and miss some guys run sw9 all day with no issues and other guys run sw3 and roast the tranny in no time.

A lot has to do with how much you abuse the power...an all out agro driver wont last long with a stock trans....someone that's worried about their stock trans can probably run higher than lvl 3 for quite a while....

I ran beta 4.4 on level 3 (about 130+hp) for 5000 miles w/o issue...but i didnt drive like an idiot, and i new i was getting my trans done....

Well, since I'm stacking it with the Edge JA right now I'm probably giving the tranny everything it can handle by putting it on SW2 and turning the Juice up to 3. I am worried about the tranny, so I will be taking relatively easy. I'll roll some smoke from time to time, but I also know that I'm going to get the tranny built . . . especially after feeling the power this evening once I put the Smarty on the truck.

Got about 25k miles on my 07 with the smarty with stk. torque managment usually on level 5. Only time I crank it up is when I get on a dyno or go to events... So far so good, only need to save a few more bucks for a trans. Serviced the tranny at 30k about a month ago and the fluid looked great... not burnt and no shavings which surprised me. I usually only lay into the throttle under lockup. Maybe thats the only thing thats saved it this long.

I run the TQ management on 3 and can tell you it shifts very solidly, but smoothly and also very high in the RPM range. I couldn't see a stock tranny livivng very long with that. I would definitly say keep it at 1.
