The more I read about the different Smarty's, the more confused I get. When ya'll talk about the Revo, is that the new SSR? Looking at all the options they have, I wouldn't have a clue where to start with the settings. I was wanting to by a Smarty POD for my 06 but the more I think about it the more I feel like I am just getting into problems with where the settings should be etc. I'm worried about getting something set wrong and hurting something. Seems like everyone has a different view on what settings work best.
What would be the best setting for what I have in my sig? Any ideas? I'm not trying to drag race. Dave |
Revo is the standard Smarty programming.
It seems like a lot at first, but it really isn't. For 90% of users default is perfect. With a stock trans I would run SW1 TM2 TQ2 RP1 WG1. If you have too much timing rattle try TM3. If your trans is built I would try SW3 and SW5 to see what you like best, other settings the same. |
AH64ID,
On the settings, is WG1 for the wastegate setting? If so my new turbo does not have an electronic wastegate. It came with a resistor plug to plug into the harness that originally connected to the factory turbo. Also, if I were to get the Smarty POD for my 06, does it come with the Revo tuning? I may be hollering at you again once I purchase one if you don't mind. Thanks Dave |
You still have to turn the WG off so the ECM isn't trying to open it and give you an overboost code, thou you probably have a boost fooler.
Yes the out of the box Smarty has Revo on it. |
Thanks for the info. My Quad 2 has boost fooling. I think it still boost fools even with the tuner turned off. I'm just using it for a rail pressure gauge now. I leave the tuner off. I will probably leave it hooked up just for a gauge even when I get the Smarty but I don't think I will be stacking it with the Smarty. Don't really see the need.
