What's the consensus regarding the use of SW #2 (70HP) on the Smarty Jr and the survivability of the stock auto trans on the 325/600 48re trucks? Would it be okay for daily driving if I WAS NOT racing everyone at every light and just having a little fun sometimes?

IMO yes but there is ALWAYS a limit. If you can be sensible and use the power right you will be fine, start ragging on it and you can see drastic results down the road.

 

It may not be a Smarty and people's opinion of Superchips isn't that of Smarty, but I have over 160k on my stock tranny. I have used my Flashpaq on performance the whole time (they claim 130hp increase). I don't tow often but I do occasionally tow a travel trailer and a enclosed car trailer. I don't hot rod my truck (but I put my foot in it when I want to) and I change the tranny fluid every 30k. I have no issues with my tranny. Hopefully it will stay that way for many more miles to come!!

I've been running sw3 default default for day to day and any setting in between for well 60k and no issues. Tow on both sw1 and sw2 and still running strong. I don't beat my truck but I use it as well, didn't buy it for getting groceries.
