I have a 2004.5 5.9 and am shopping for a used Smarty Jr programmer. In shopping online, ebay, etc., I see that the outer appearance of these tuners varies. There is one that the face is mostly blue, and another that the face is mostly grey. I believe that the older version is the grey one and the newer has the blue face, is that correct?

What is the difference between Smarty Jr programmers with these different outer appearances? I do want the POD function, as I will be pairing a Smarty Jr with a Edge CTS Monitor, on which within each SW_ setting, one can control the power from the CTS Monitor.

 

The blue face is the older version SJ6P and the grey face is the newer version SJ06.
Both have POD in their tuning.

Just make sure if you're buying used that the tuner is unlocked from the previous vehicle.

No. The updates are the same. The latest version is 5.14b
