What are peoples opinion on both for an 03 SO. I know the X2 has had some problems but I'm sure that's with the 325 engines only. Thanks for the info!

 

I have no complaints with my x2. Truck runs better than ever.

 

I don't know how true this is but, I read (TDR, I believe) that the SO REALLY responds to the Smarty Jr. Aparently, it raises the HP levels to those of the HO, then adds more power, like on an HO.

I just installed my Smarty Jr. on my '03 HO & really like it. I replaced a Van Aaken C-3.2 (duration-only) box, with it. On my truck, the Smarty Jr. 100 HP level is more powerful than the VA was on the 130 HP level. It pulls harder at lower rpm levels, also.

I'm very pleased with the Smarty Jr. & would buy it again.

Is the other box, you mentioned, a pressure-only box? If so, & if it makes a lot of power, It may not be too good for your injectors. A small amount of pressure is OK but, too much can damage injectors.

A small amount of pressure, stacked with a Smarty Jr. is supposed to be a great combination.

I can't remember off the top of my head but I believe its a combo of timing, duration and pressure but is also updateable via the web and can make it pressure only! I'm really torn between the two although ones a programmer and the other is a box?

 

Just put a smarty Jr in my truck... mild increase, safe limits, lower EGTs and untraceable.
