Smarty Help!!

I just purchased a used Smarty from a member on here. I plugged it into the truck, and it won't connect to the ecm. It keeps telling me to Turn Key Off, Then Turn Key ON. I've tried it a hundred times. Is there something wrong with this unit? Or does it just take awhile sometimes?

Bob, or anyone else, please help!!

Turn the key a little farther...it has to be on run...not start and not accesory.

Is ot the Smarty CR? Because I saw a Smarty VP on the 3rd gen classifides.

As a matter of fact, it was a VR. [duhhh] With it being advertised in the 3rd Gen Section, I didn't even think to ask. (Not very 'smart' of me[laugh] ) Well, thanks for the responses, and just a side note; it's nice when something is wrong with a product to have great customer service from the company. ~Thanks Bob
