Silverline vs. MBRP (duals)??
Looking for feedback from anyone with firsthand experience on a direct comparison between the 3rd-Gen MBRP duals vs. the Silverline duals. Things like drone, ease of install, overall sound, etc. etc. TIA!

Input on Silverline duals?
OK, let me ask this another way...
I've read plenty on the MBRP duals, and for the most part it's been positive. However, I haven't heard much about the Silverlines. I guess what I really need is feedback on them. Anyone? |
Go with the MBRP duals. I love them. No drone. No rust. No rattles (I did have mine welded up), No problems. I love the look. They sound great. Mellow at idle and under light acceleration but open it up and they roar. No clearance issues and factory spare tire is still accessible. Plus they were the best priced for stainless steel. Check Dodgedieselparts.com. They were the lowest price and good service.

MBRP Duals
tobyw,
Similiar products, both made by MBRP. We stock all the MBRP systems including the duals, they are available in aluminized, T-409 and T-304 stainless steel. The T-304 systems include the dual wall 5 inch T-304 polished tips too. We are MBRP's largest diesel exhaust distributor and GUARANTEE all of our prices, so call us if you have any questions etc, we will be glad to answer them. Mark @ DPPI |
I know of one truck with the MBRP duals (RickD) and it looks and sounds great BUT......
he just towed a few thousand miles and said that the drone while towing was awful! |
Hmmmm, any idea how his truck is setup (gears, tire size, etc)? Just wondering if we would be towing in the same RPM range or not?

These are very similar products. We have the Silverline and the fit is very good and the look excellent. Some times some trucks will drone with these systems in which case the drone can be solved by installation of an Aeroturbine placed on the down pipe. The Silverline is polished 304 SS with a louvered muffler and double wall tips.

His truck has an air intake, TST, and exhaust. I think other than that it is pretty much stock. I believe he was going to go the aeroturbine route as carnut57 said... Maybe he'll see this thread and chime in. He lurks alot but doesn't post much..

Ok I'm Here!!
When I first installed the duals I had no problems at all driving the truck empty, just a small drone at 2000 rpm but it was gone while cruising. Then i hooked up my trailer and started out on a 6500 mile acrost country trip, after the first 1000 miles i was ready to shoot my self in the head just to ease the pain. I suffered thru the next 5500 miles andas soon as i got home called mark at DPPI and ordered one of his resonators and put it on rite on the end of the down pipe, now i think the truck sounds 100% better and although there is still a slight drone at 2000 rpm it's llite and not anoying, it lowered the entire noise level about 50% going by the ear meter.
