Born and raised in TEXAS! Proud of it, consider myself a High-Tech Redneck and not afraid to admit it. Some side pipes look good if done right, just hard on the lower leg if not careful.
Were you born in lala land?? Of course those hillbillies from north of the Red River are just plain crazy.
Why Texas does not have looters very often:

Here's my setup.
I moved the muffler 37 inches forward and cut up the tail pipe to make a nice angled setup out the side. It gives a lot more room under the truck and changes the sound to a slightly more raspy and mechanical sound, but not louder. I used a tapped hole in the frame to make an additional mount and routed the pipe out where the frame turns up a bit. Now I have room under there for an air tank. Worked out great and I love it.
I do get some soot on the tire after a few thousand miles, similar to the brake dust on the front wheels, but the rear of the truck stays clean and nothing shows up on the rear fender. Also it has no affect on the tire temperature.
This is an old pic before the Dynatrac kit.

Yes yes very much like that black mega cab. Is how I'd like to do it. except on the 6B powered chevy...........see its got the long low frameline that I have to cover. but with the cowl hood on now I think it deserves nice sidepipes. for the hotrod look.

I will be doing side pipes, but don't know when. I am planning on 5" turbo back to Y, then full length semi pipes along both sides. Talked to a chrome shop and they said they can do it no problem. If I do happen to have problems because of the fuel tank, I will be eliminating it for a transfer tank in the bed. I haven't decided if I will do turn out or bull hauler pipes yet, but it will be done one day.
what do you need a chrome shop for? you can buy everything chromed from peterbilt here. clamps and everything. I think I'm going for 5" turnouts. right infront of the duals.
Theres going to be soot the whole way down both sides of your truck and it will turn your wheels and bumper black too trust me i had a side dump on one side right in front of the back tire and that was bad enough.
