SHOXSpeed Engine Strut Brace

This caught my eye...

Check this link http://www.shoxspeed.com/products then click on Engine Strut Brace.

Engine Strut Brace
The SHOXSpeed Engine Strut Brace increases safety, stability and control.

With the Strut Brace you achieve full suspension and shock performance. It improves handling and steering response, while reducing chassis and body flex by adding stiffness and increase structural rigidity and predictable cornering.

For example, when trucks are lifted or dropped, bigger, wider wheels are added, changing the offset off the wheels and the total weight of the suspension components increases. This extra weight forces the chassis to flex more and minimizes the life and performance of the suspension parts and shocks.

The SHOXSpeed Engine Strut Brace system works by transmitting the vertical load of each shock tower during compression (via tension and compression of the engine strut brace), by sharing the mass force between both
towers to improve linear control.

This Engine Strut Brace is designed for all production trucks, stock, lifted, and street.
I haven't seen any other companies making these but makes sense.

I just wonder if in practical use it actually does anything to warrant the expense?...... A lot of stuff the theory looks great on paper but when it comes right down t the practical value of it, it falls short.

This is the sort of thing we used on unibody cars (all Chrysler in the good years, 1957-1987, roughly) to accomplish what the product ads claim for the trucks. I'd guess a daily driver might not notice it much, but even then it's not a bad idea. (I also like that metal shield SHOX sells, be good for some underbody aero cleanup as well as protection).

might want to talk to Lary about being a sponsor before posting a big advertisement, although thanks for correcting the error.

welcome to DTR.

PM Lary and get on the sponsorship and then have a fun time here.

well the company fixed the miss spelling, still considering its neat and makes the engine bay look pretty spiffy.

The part is manufactured by Victor Ortiz. Joe Salas@ www.ntgracing.com has one installed on his '03. Said it made a very noticable improvement in his handling.

Where is the shop located in the link you provided? There contact page doesn't provide that info!

I'm trying to decide on a few steering related items over the next few months the brace might be in the build.
