shock question
i threw this question out in the no drivetrain forum, but less people frequent there, so here it is.
I have a broken shock on the rear pass. side. Now i am leaving for holidays in about 2 hours and want too get this fixed. Does anyone know an oem replacement, so i dont have too go too the dealer, or is it safe too replace both rear shocks with aftermarket units, and leave the fronts alone for now?? |
you will be fine if you replace the rears and not the fronts.
just replace both rears  I'm not that impressed with the OEM shocks anyways, so i would change them out for some billsteins (sp?) or maybe rancho 9000. have fun on your trip:cool: 53 |
well i answered my own question....oem's are 100 canbucks......a little steep if you ask me!!
|
you can get pretty nice aftermarket shock for that price.[duhhh]
good luck |
I have bilsteins and am not THAT impressed. its almost time for tires again so that may help....10,000 and melted 6 toyo tires....dang. I guess white smoke displays are expensive [laugh]

well i got procomp 9000's, got the 2 rear ones on (for less than 1 oem), and the 2 fronts will have too wait untill after holidays. I got about 12 miles on the rear procomps now for a test run, and so far i am impressed. Used too have alot of axle tramp if i tried too get on it too quick from a stop light, now i get some good smoke and maybe 2 tramps in there....we will see on this 2500 mile trip how they hold up.
