scotty III airfilter

OK - dumb question for the day here...I have a scotty III and after a dusty archery hunting season figure it is time I do something with the filter. Is this thing cleanable like a K&N or do I just have to buy a new filter......if cleanable - can I use the K&N stuff on it ? I think I have some laying around somewhere...if I have to get a new filter - where can I get one ? Part number ?

Thanks,

Rob.

Yes sir, you can clean it just like a K&N. We will shortly be carrying the cleaning kits here on the Online Store.

for a little extra protection, does anyone know the part number for the "blue bag" prefilter for that model AFE? It gets dusty sometimes and would give a little piece of mind.

We have the cleaning kits in stock for the aFe filter your Scotty-III came with. We are also offering the new 2-stage foam filter elments for the Scotty intake systems. The foam elements flow very well with superior filtering. They are also reusable with washing and oiling.

Do they have new data to suggest the 2-stages filter/flow capability. Some foam filters have not scored so well in the past. I would be interested in seeing some technical data.

I love oiled foam...get to clean them weekly on the dirt bike!

Come on...there is no dust in Oregon...unless you live east..(I have no idea where Colton is). I race enduro and hare scrambles in Colorado and head south for desert races in New Mexico/Arizona etc. I get to see some of the best dust God has to offer!

"no dust in oregon"....I wish that was true...we have plenty. I live in the valley - but go east a bunch - so I ride all over - and there is dust in all the spots Pretty good riding though, no big complaints.

We haven't had a chance to put a manometer on one yet, however on trucks with the aFe standard element, the swap to the UNI dual stage foam filter netted another 50F EGT reduction on the common rail test truck. As more get out on the street, we'll get some better EGT numbers for everyone, and I'll get some manometer numbers up as soon as the snow flies and I have some additonal after hours time to play.

Rod,
Will you be offering these filters also? I looked at your site but didn't see them. If these flow well and keep the dust out I want one!
Thanks, Kris

PS- We tried the new JD swather, it will be another Hesston for this ranch

Rob (misterKTM), did you inspect your air intake tube after running in that archery season dust? I just got through a very dusty archery season and deer hunting weekend on the east side of Oregon and was wondering the whole time how an aftermarket system would fare. Is any dirt getting past it?
