SB, DD, getting a tad grubby

Hello. I am enjoying my new DD. It seems to be getting grabbier w/time. I think I read somewhere that you can do a couple slippery-slidy launches and it might make it less grabby.

Does anyone know what I need to do, or maybe what the heck I am asking?

Thanx.

A hard 3rd gear launch or two will work wonders...

That is unless it's an organic DD. Then I don't know what will help.

Yep leave a little tire on the road and it will smooth out for a while.

What kind of launch do you actually do when doing a launch? Is it basically pop clutch and stab the throttle at the same time? Or do you boost up and drop the clutch?

When doing any kind of launch it needs boost. What I do is use my right heel to hold the brake (left is depressing clutch) then use right toe to bring the rpm up to about 2800 rpm, hold that. Now slowly let clutch out until it engages, slows engine, you'll hear and feel it. Then let some boost build, once you're where you want to be, drop the clutch with the left and take foot off the brake at the same time and give it more go pedal! It takes practice for sure.

Thanx for all the info you-all! I just realized my title of this thread said; "grubby" instead of "grabby." What a tardy-typer.
