S&B or AEM Workhorse intake
Anyone running any of the 2 intakes above? How do you like them, and most importatly how do they fit and install? I have a AFE stage II pro dry that i am removing from my truck because of how cheap and hard it was to make fit. From the looks of the S&Bs modular design i would like it fits much easier.
Also how big is the intake tube from the filter on each of the 2? and last but not least how loud is the turbo whistle!!!

I like the S&B I just got it and the install was easy and it looks great. The intake tube it big 5.5" i think. I uses the lower stock elbow that fits to the turbo, so the new tube is the size of the stock baffle tube.
Why did you use the baffle tube? Hows the whistle? Did all the mouting holes line up or did you have to bend the kit? How the quality in your opinion? did it feel cheap?
i have had the s&b set up fo over a year. very happy with it. if you have any questions about it-call the company- the owner/ceo will be happy to talk to you!!! try talking to the owner of any other company!!! great product! their filter media is 8 layers of cotton! top notch product that is cheaper than their competitiors!!!

Well, I prefer the AEM Workhorse. I like the aluminum tube and the huge filter element. Fit is perfect and it flows very, very, good. You will hear the turbo singing right off. Sounds great. I actually took my silencer ring out and now it sounds like an F16! LOUD! If you want to hear the turbo sing, this is the intake for you.
i got the aem and its sitting in a closet right now if that tells you anything. the fit is terrible and rubs the hood insulation alot. another thing i was paranoid about was going thru a puddle and water splashing up and getting sucked into the motor since there is no bottom to the heat shield.
that brute force looks pretty nice, but im back to the factory filter and box and my egts really arent much higher and i dont have to worry about it when i take it in for service

I installed an S&B intake on my friends 6.0 Powerstroke. It fit nicely and the filter itself seamed really high quality (very heavy and well made). He's had it on his truck for about 20k miles now and really likes it. I'm planning on installing an S&B on my truck when I get it. Reasonably priced too.

Got an S&B myself, no regrets, I bought a spare element so there's no "down time" when I clean the filter. I like that it's enclosed rather than wide open, especially when driving down dusty logging roads.
I think the plastic intake pipe would stay cooler than a metal one, and the S&B's are reasonably priced. They've changed the design on their website since I boulght mine, prices went up too though...

Just got done installing the S&B kit on my 06 and it took about an hour or so ( I took my time, I am very careful to check and re-check everything and also helped my boss inatall one on his 05 d-max).
The kit seems very well made and also has a nice clean look to it. All plastic and rubber parts are heavy and seem built for the mileage these trucks are capable of.
I had previously removed my silencing ring and now with the S&B intake my truck sounds like a F-16 taking off, VERY COOL.
All in all I am very pleased and would recommend this kit, especially for the price of under 2 bones.

I have an aem bruteforce and love it. The whisle is great. I didn't have any issues with fit either. If you do go with the aem I recommend the grey powdercoat. I got the polished aluminum thinking it would look nice but it scratches easily and its always dirty anyways.
