Rock chips on rockers

Anyone have chrome rockers? I have lots of rock chips after 2 months of owning my truck. I would like to protect the paint and my thoughts are the 3M clear-bra material or these chrome rockers:

any thoughts?

The Stainless rockers can still allow moisture to build up behind them causing rust.
Several folks have had the rockers sprayed with Line-X (or another spray-in-bed material) for protection.

Not a good choice where they use salt on the roads. Too much chrome for me, but if you like chrome, go for it. Personnaly, I use running boards.

I was planning on the 3M clear plastic film for mine. I think geno's stocks the stuff and it is fairly cheap.
