replacement oil filters for bypass
replacement oil filters for bypass
Just curious, how much are you guys spending on replacement filters for your bypass oil filters? I just ordered 3 & they were like $75. That seemed a little high, but I thought I would compare to the everyone elses.
I haven't decided yet. I don't really think so though. One of their ads shows that the oil is still honey colored after a couple thousand miles. NOPE!!! Black as soon as I made it a to the gas station. I don't know what to think yet. I'm going to change out the filter & try it one more time to see how things go. I may make an appointment & have them look at it too to see if everything is hooked up right. I would at least think that it would do better than it dit.
Your oil will be black no matter what bypass filter you use. SOOT turns the oil black. The bypass filter is designed to remove finer particles than the stock filter. If your oil is not black it is not doing its job of properly suspending the soot.

Filtration Solutions (FS2500) has an ad that says that it removes the soot & it should be "honey colored" as the ad states. In my case - not so, at least on the first round.
I also just bought a FS 2500 and after installation I was waiting to see the honey colored oil as well. Not happening. Still black as ever. Now I know that the black is soot, but the advertisments tell you this filter removes the soot from your oil leaving it in appearance as if it was new.
On that I am going to have to wave the BS flag. It just does not. Now as far as hooking it up right, pretty hard to mess that up, I am getting warm oil first on the in line and later on the out side... It must be passing through???
Are there different filter for this unit? Maybe if there is I have one that will filter anything bigger than a Poodle and I need to get a filter that will at least slow down a teacup size poodle...
Any suggestions? Help?

it may take awhile for that filter unit to show any visible changes. it is only filtering a small percentage of the total oil. depending on how much it flows, it may never keep up with a motor that is generating more soot than the filter can remove.
i still doubt it will keep the oil honey colored though. that statement is just like banks saying that their components wont void the warranty.

They're about $500. But I got mine for about half that. The input line goes just above the factory oil filter - there is an unused plug there. The return line can either be put on a modified oil cap or you can drill & tap into the valve cover which is what I did. The body mounts on the frame.

I buy in bulk!!
