Replaced F.A.S.S filter and now trucks idles bad
i replaced the filters on my F.A.S.S 150. now when fire up the truck it ildes like garbage and sounds like it is running on 2 cylinders. do i have air in my lines and if so how do i reprime the system?
How much have you driven the truck since the filter change? The CR system doesn't need to be primed really. They're not like a VP where you have to crack an injector line to get fuel up to the injector.
Sometimes it can take several minutes to get all the air worked out of the fuel.
Only recommendation I can give you is to take the FASS line of the pump and put it in a can and let it run for a couple seconds to make sure your getting full fuel to that point.
Did you fill the filters with diesel before installing them?
Does the truck run fine under load?
Let us know some more details.

before the filter change my truck was running fine. i got the filters today and changed them. i filled the filters with diesel. but i forgot to prime the system after i changed them. i fired the truck up after i installed them and it ran fine, i only kept it running for a few seconds. i shut the truck off and lef it alone. several hours later i got in my truck started it up and it was idiling badly. it sounds like it is on 2 cylinders. i tried to reprime the system and it is running bad.
I would try starting over agian from the begining. Retrace your steps.
Remove the new filters and inspect to make sure nothing is out of place, or nothing is there that shouldn't be.
Reinstall new filters and turn the key on. Let the pump run till it shuts off, then bump the engine and let the pump run some more. Do this a couple of times.
Start the truck and let it idle for a little bit, few minutes. After that rev the engine to about 1200 rpm and attemp to hold it there for about a minute. This is all to try and get the air out of the system.
Go for a drive.
If it still is idling like crap, something is wrong. Could be the check ball that regulates the fuel psi. Maybe it got shuved into the spring???
It's hard to say. May have gotten some crap in the cp3 or injectors??? Keep trying and let us know.
