i would also like to know. had a stereo shop here in town tell me that the entire center console/cup holder all the way up has to be removed before that bezel will come off.

MY 04.5 does not have any screws holding the bezel on, I got it out by opening th glove box, and prying from that end, working my way across.

~ This worked for me, not sure if yours are different or what.

My problem seemed to be getting door panels off, but I just didn't want to break anything so I did not pull too hard.

There was a post or two that had pics of radio installs. A search might help.
Basically you work from the bottom up. Floor console with drink holders, the small filler, then the bezel that holds the radio. Yes there are two screws that are located under the radio bezel that can only be accessed after removing the filler. Once the two screws are removed it will pop off with a good grip and a straight pull. the heater contraols come out with the bezel.

ok guys,
to remove the bezel, you must remove the rubber cup holders by pulling up on it. There is a bolt under that. Also, unscrew the 4x4 **** and remove the boot. There is a bolt under there. Remove the boot on your standard transmission (if equipped) and there is a bolt under there, in a auto, the little tray comes out for access to the bolt. Pull all the floor peices up and out.

For the verical plastic peice inset, there is two scres on the bottom of the peice. Remove the screws and pull the piece out.

Now, there is two screws that screw into the bottom of the bezel (about under each power point) that is accessed when all the previous peices described are removed. After removing the two screws, the bezel will pop out. Its kind of hard if its the first time removed. I always start at the top, by the instrument cluster.
When you unpop the bezel, all the electronics will unplug from it, and your good to go.

on my 07 guage install, i found out that you do not need to remove any part of the floor console. just tug on the panel trim that surrounds the stereo, air vents, and fan controls...i thinks it's like an octagon-ish shape. that whole piece will pop out and the stereo and wires for the cig lighter and such will be easily accessible. jsut start on the edge closest to the driver and work acroos to the passenger side.....really easy and don't be too scared or too rough with it and you will be ok.

on my 6 laramie auto...

i had to start by opening the large compartment of the center console, and pop two clips out holding the cup holders in. They are in the front of the console at the top and a HUGE PITA to get out. After that, it's all screws/bolts.

Use a screwdriver and pry it off once you have all the screws out. When I put my REC Nav in I left those two screws out and now it pops out without having to remove all that other stuff....

Exactly how simidown described in my case, there's 2 screws hiding behind the cup holder.
