Double check my bdtd setup

Wish I'd have done more reading before you guys talk me into drilling right into the web of the manifold. Hahaha..I'm blaming all of you. J/K.

Anyway, once I realized that I moved over, drilled and tapped again. Everything went ok then. So I busted out my little mig and welded up the first hole. I drilled clearly into the back port and just skimmed open the front port, but it seems to be ok after welding. I have no way of knowing if my weld actually closed the ports to make them independent again. I think the weld should hold up. What do you guys think? Am I going to be ok? There was no way to tap it for a pipe plug.

Anyway. This is my first experience with these dowloaders. Took the truck out for a quick spin and hit 1120 degrees pegging it for a short distance. Seem reasonable for a stock rig? I thought that seemed high. What's a good setting for my limit once I download the triple dog? 1350?

The Outlook in the 06 reads everything off the ALDL port. I'm wondering how trustworthy the numbers are too.

Thanks,
GPSHEMI

1120 sounds way too cool for a stock '06. Most 06's will hit 1400 while stock. I hate to say it, but I don't think I would trust that probe/gauge.

Well I haven't driving but about 4 miles in her yet. Give me some time to check it out more. Maybe it will hit that. Still though....where do I set the limit?

OK. Took it out for lunch and took a 30 miles trip in it. Looks like I can hit 1200's with no load to speak of. Boost on the hwy is right around 6-9psi. Rail pressure reads 18.8k give er take a little. All sounds about right really. I bet with a trailer and standing on it I'd peek over the 1400.

The trans temp has me puzzled some though. It drops down to 72 on the highway. If you slow down in traffic it goes up slightly to maybe 90-120ish maybe. When starting it back up after a long drive and it's been sitting a short bit it reads 120ish too, but quickly comes down to 80's again. Sounds cold to me, but maybe it's got a hell of a trans cooler on it too. It is barely 55 outside.
