Recommended source for injectors
Recommended source for injectors
I've read a few posts that keep referencing a DTR member as an excellent source for new injectors.
I find myself in the market for injectors suddenly and since my stock ones cracked with my use, I would like to upgrade to something that is a little beefier and capable of living with my pressure box and perhaps maybe in the 50-60 plus HP range.
Can someone clue me on a recommend source (perhaps one that could even fedex these to me
)

How the heck do I PM a vendor
grrrr....I used Don's website, located the dealer who owns the franchise to sell his parts in my part of the country...and called him.
I got some silly answering service at 2:45 in the afternoon who took my name and number and said "the guy who knows these things will have to call you back"...she wouldn't even answer the simple question of "Do you normally warehouse parts so you can ship out to me fedex next day".
*sigh*
So much for having injectors tomorrow and possibly my truck back up and running. I swear how do people stay in business. Goodyear had the truck for 3 days and didn't even pull the valve cover. It is now parked at the dealership near my house....at 65 miles tow that I wanted to avoid, and since I have no injectors even though they promised to diagnose the problem for me tomorrow they won't have parts till Monday now at the earliest.

you can still order tomorrow and have saturday delivery... dont get discouraged, things like this happen. I would have called some other places that sell F1 injectors. You are going ot pay for overnight regardless of where you go.
If you want F1 injectors you need to pull yours, send em in, they moddify/fix yours then send them back. If that is a problem you need to go another route but imo F1s seem to be the best out there.

This won't work since I need to be back on the road.

I hope I'm not sounding whiney over this edited by admin....but it always happens at the worst time.

When would it be a good time for this to happen?
Seriously though, there are some advantages to doin that way, as in you know you are not getting some injectors with 150k on em or something like that. You send yours in and get yours back.
Good luck with your search. If F1 wont work try DDP.

As I understand the DDP ones, you reuse your current injectors and change the nozzle...not sure if that would work if I have a current cracked injector....unless of course they only crack at the nozzle.
The more I look at this....the more it is looking like my trip is off.

It is best to send them to don I had the same problem he repair 3 injector bodies and put on new tips. pressure tested them and sent them to me.If you busy just tips from anyone you still have the same bad body. Plus you risk loosing a core due to a broken tip
Don M, DDP, and Industrial Injection are the best three out their by far you cant go wrong with any of them for that size injector but Don's will hold more pressure from what ive heard theve been tested to 38k psi wow!!! Grind down a 22mm wrench and place in a bench vice turn injector upside down and youll see how to place them in the wrench then Pull your body/nozzle apart and see if you see any cracks once you clean with some break cleaner you can ussually see the cracks in most cases their will be a brown line looks like a burnt spot if so theirs your crack and if you dont see anything then you may have a crack up higher in your bodies or a hung solenoid. Retourqe to 55ftlbs when done observing for any cracks.
If you plan to run higher pressure DDP will not warranty them... and I don't blame them. Only F1's are modded to handle more pressure that I'm aware of. Contact one of F1's rep's and they may have a set of injectors that are ready to be done up for you. They aren't cheap but they are usually much cheaper than the dealer. If yours are cracked then you don't have a choice....if you are making oil do not drive the truck as you will roach the turbo and valve train, etc. ks
