Rear sway bar and ladder bar combo
Just curious to those who use ladder bars, do you also have a rear sway bar?
Is it even necessary to have one? |
I installed a Helwig rear sway bar on the '05, and it made a big difference in the corners - especially loaded.
The ladder bars I installed didn't change the handling characteristics, except when driving off-road with lots of suspension articulation - then, the ladder bars raise the effective spring rate, but it's not measurable with my SOTP meter. https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...rs2_Large_.JPG |
Ya that is the info I'm looking for.
I was thinking of incororating a sway bar into my design of the ladder bars, which is on rev. #5. I was test fitting everything and got to wondering if there wasn't "too much going on" back there with all the added mods. I have found a used sway bar that with some minor modifications will work very well ( the local spring shop says they can do this), but I have to decide for sure if it worth the extra work before I continue fabricating. |
