Ramifier and Fuel Economy
Ramifier and Fuel Economy
Im pretty sure I already know the answer, but just double checking with some of the more knowledgeable folks on here. My overhead will not state the correct fuel economy with my Ramifier installed right? Also, for anyone that knows anything about it, when my **** is turned all the way down, is it still giving the motor more fuel, or is that a stock setting. I cant tell for sure by the seat of the pants feel, but it does feel a little more peppy. Also, anyone notice and increase in fuel economy when normal driving and at what setting? Thanks.

The Ramifier will throw off the overhead...more the further you turn it up. With the **** off...it will only low and high boost fool.
On your truck...daily drive at 50-60% and for the occasional race turn it up to maybe 80% max. You truck will be slower if you turn it up more...
Your tranny won't handle it...your fuel supply won't handle it...and eventually...your stock injectors and relief valve may not like that thing cranked.
The mileage is dependant on how you drive your truck...that 50-60% range should yield some gain.
I love mine...very effective box.

This is the first that I have heard of 100% actually causing truck to run slower. Why is this? Low fuel pressure? I am planning on getting mp8 after gauges are installed. I have a 235 hp S.O. and was hoping to get all the hp and torque I can get out of it. Do you think the same would hold true for my truck?
Thanks.
Rick
p.s. Sorry for the hijack.

Im not sure about yalls, but when mine is cranked up, it definately feels faster. Pulls much harder than stock.
CQuestad, your belief is I need to upgrade tranny? Im not disagreeing it could use it, but my understanding is that the stock tranny will hold, but I am at the limits of the stock tranny, and TC. I drive it pretty easy mostly, and occasionally turn it up for a quick run and then turn it back down. Let me know your opinion please. Thanks for your help.

Yes...it is simply too much for the tranny (auto in stock trim) above that...watch your tach...it will stay pegged!
I ran a whole bunch of 1/4's on a basically stock 04.5....and 70-80% netted the same time as 100%. So...where is that extra power going??? Slip, heat, eventual tranny damage. The truck had 35's...so that would put a little more leverage on things...
If the Ramifier or MP-8 is cranked all the way up too....the rail pressure gets up there too.
Point is...play with it...and find the adjustment that works best for your truck, altitude, driving style, mileage, and engine life! Pressure is a double edged sword. Got to have the right amount....more is not always better!
But that is the beauty of the MP-8/Ramifier...it can be set at what ever that point is...on a case by case basis.
I am only suggesting 70-80% max till you have other supporting mods. Run that puppy at 50-60% stacked with a duration box (of sourse lots of supporting mods) and you will really see it shine.
