Questions about RECON brand Projector headlights and HID's

I have tried to wade through lots of hits with the search engine-but I can't quite get what I want:

I am looking at getting some RECON brand Projector headlights for my 06. If I am going to put them in-I really wanted to put in a set of HID's as well.

Based on the Recon website-it says that they use 1 H1 bulbs for the low beam and a 9005 for the high beam.

I am wondering if anyone has put a HID kit in either/both of the sockets. The recon website says to use halogen 55w light-

I am concerned about
1. Quality of the headlight assemblies-vs OEM
2. The ability to install an HID kit in at least the low beam socket- ( H1 ) without having to modify the housing. I also want to make sure it doesn't melt the housing.

Any input on these would be great. In the next day or so, i have to have some work done to my bumper & grill-and headlights

Thanks,

I have put the projectors for my 04 and put H.I.D.'s in them they use 2 H1 bulbs. One for running light/Hi beam, the second is regular low beam. You will probably only want to do the H.I.D's in the low beam as if your truck is equipped with DRL's the voltage is just reduced to the ballast and could shorten the life span. I also had to buy 2 load control modules. I think that's what they were called, used to eliminate the pulsing output as a result of the pcm and turn off the lamp out light on the gauges. If you are going to use a Bosch style relay you will need the modules as the relay won't stay on and goes crazy, at least in my 04 it did

How do you find the light output with the projector lenses on the low beam?

Did the headlight assemblies fit right? Or was there some messing around to gettem in there?

I find the light is not bad you can for sure see a distinct cut off line as to not blind on coming drivers but with all the lights you can see in the pics turned on its like day time. As for the H.I.D bulb fitting in the housing it was a perfect fit, but on my last truck I had projectors as well and it required a little Dremel work, but very minor and they were from Ebay and inexpensive. As for assembly fit they required no modifications at least for me. The Recon LED tails, and cab lights fit perfect as well.

I wonder if anyone has any information on the 06 reconcile projector lights. I bought h1 hid lights for my reconcile projectors and they did not fit and seem too long for the low beam. Anyone?
