Questions abought Tourque Dog?
Earlier this year a freind at church ofered to sell me some toys for my truck that he had aquired from a freind that was getting rid of his truck. I wanted the toys but I needed to spend the money on other things at the time. Well abought 2 weeks later my wife told me she needed some help getting something out of the car and to my suprize she had bought all the toys that I had turned down. She called him the same nite I looked at the stuff and aranged to pick it up at a later date. I love the extra power but have no idea how the box works (timing, duration, presure, all of the above?) I realy dont want much of a presure increase in order to minimize stress on the fuel system but I am afraid that is probobly exactly what this box does. Any one know for sure?? I dont see any one else running this box at all nore do i hear anyone talk about it. Is it a bad box or just an out dated box? The other thing abought it is that it smokes a lot more than i like. I am not a Tree Hugger but I dont realy see the point in dumping exuberant amounts of black smoke into the air either. I would like to have kids some day and would rather they had clean air to breath. I have been thinking of selling this box and finding something that does not make as much smoke but the only problem is that I wont know for sure till I have it and it is on the truck. I have ridden in a freinds truck that has the Edge juice with Atitude and was impessed with the power and pleased with how little it smoked. The freind bought the box from has nothing but Banks stuff on his truck and swears by them but I have never ridden in his truck. I dont realy need any more power than stock but the bug has bitten and I dont want to have to drive it with nothing on it. I very rarely turn the box on but I enjoy it when I want to pass some one in a hury. What box would you suggest that is the easiest on the truck(minnimal fuel pressure and least amount of smoke)? Last but definatly not least. If I decide to sell this box, What is it worth? I am not sure what she paid for it because she bought it with the gauges and Air Aid filter. All I know is that the total was between $400-$500. with everything needed to install it including the boost bolt and a new thermocouple, and a new a piller with the 2 in1 guage installed. What are the gages worth? I am not sure of brand but they are a 2 in 1 setup. There is only one spot for a gage in the piller. I dont want to sell them but if I have to to sell the box I will. I would rather keep them if I get the Juice/Attitude for a second set of "eyes" waching the engine.

i will assume that u have the adjustable torque dog, it only does pressure. no timing and no duration. mine doesnt smoke at all even with the box turned all the way up. as far as what its worth just look on ebay. hope this helps. if not let me know and i will try harder
thanks. Yes its the adjustable one( I was unaware there where unajustable ones). I dont know whats diferent abought our trucks but mine will make a cloud any bomed 1st or 2nd gen truck would be proud of. It only realy smokes bad till boost is built up to around 20 psi then the smoke drops off but it blows a good cloud every time i shif if i am hard on the throttle. The other thing i forgot to mention is that teh EGTs are way higher than I feel safe. Even empty i can hit 1500 deg in a heart beat. I hope the guage is a little on the high side but I dought it. If I step on it to pass someone I have to feather the throttle to keep the EGT under the 1500 mark. If I stay on it it will peg the guage at 1500. That is anouther huge consern for me. I dont want to have to watch the gauge more than the road. Typicaly when i do turn it on I leave it on the low stting because of the EGT problems. I feel that I can probobly get as much usable power out of the low setting with heavy throttling as i can on the high setting having to feather the throttle to keep the EGTs in check.
if you can hit 1500 then u got something funny going on! even if im towing 8k uphill with my foot to the floor i can only get to 1200! have you done anything to open up your intake or exhaust? that might be the problem. even now with the power pup stacked on top of the torque dog i have a hard time gettin that hot. but then again i cant use all the power i have available with out slipping the t/c.
