Quadzilla XZT

I got my quadzilla xzt and monster air intake with green filter on the truck. Now I was reading the manual and it says that a red light on a non race box means level 3 but I was under the impression that the xzt was one level. Do I need a controller to turn this down I dont want to destroy the tranny... yet.

I think if you have the pod you can have 3 levels. Maybe quad will chime in to say for sure. On the XZT I think they are like 15 - 35 - 65. ????

I guess they call it the recon guage, or if you use it with the commander you can get 3 levels. Check the led flash to make sure you have the right module!

You have the right box. This question gets asked every once in a while. Its like vzdude says when the commander came out it made it possible to adjust the XZT by the commander. Without the commander you have the 65 hp towing module nonadjustable. The red is just the highest level the towing box can perform. I hope I made sense.

That is correct shortbed!

Basically on the XZT the 65hp level is L3. So when you hook a Commander up to it you can turn it down and off. Without a Commander it is and will only ever be a 65hp module.

You can hook up a control pod all you want and it still won't change the power levels, you have to have the Commander.

Thanks for the answers guys. I was reading the manual and it didn't have anything about the XZT so i was confused. Maybe that could be something for quad to look at so owners know what they have. I thought I had 100 hp or something the trucks a different animal even with just 65 hp more I LOVE IT. I'm sure I'll be an addict for life now thanks alot quadzilla.... :)

Well you have about 110 Banks horsepower with that module.

It all depends on how you want to look at it!!!

Seriously we rate everything as a peak to peak gain. This means if your truck makes 100hp and you add the XZT and you dyno it then you will have 165hp (or more!!).

Many companies rate their power gains based on a best gain scenario. For example the truck might 100hp at 2700rpm but, only make 50hp at 1800rpm. Their product might make only make 130 total horsepower but, at 1800rpm it is making 120hp. Well they would claim that they are selling you a 70hp module when in all reality it is a 30 horsepower module.

Just depends on how you play the numbers. I am pretty sure in places the XZT boxes make around 100hp gain but, peak to peak is still only 65hp and that is what it is rated for.

Will the XZT mess with my fuel mileage guage on my over head? Its been reading about 18 on avg even on the highway at 75mph when it ussually reads around 15. I have to do hand calc. this fill up. How bout plowing with this module?

yes

Some. Your driving style and average rpm when cruising will determine how much it is off. If you are really gentle it will not be off that much. If you drive 80-90 everywhere it will be off more.
