I have an 06 with the Xzillaraider II 100hp box (QZXZ2003) and didn't want the Commander at the time. Since the box performed so well, this forced me to buy an AFE Stage 2 intake, Blade Runner, and turbo-back exhaust... So now I want to monitor EGT and tranny temp, and add a turbo timer when it becomes available. I want to stick with QuadZilla's electronics.

Would I be better off going back and ordering a Commander, or going with the Scout? Does either option offer defueling or lowering the XZ II's power level setting based on EGT?

Also, if I didn't bother to remove the bypass plug while installing the XZ II, and tore it up, how would I get another one?

I do not think they make the commander anymore. I am pretty sure the Scout took its place. Not sure about the defuel questions.

 

OlRed is right that they have stopped making the Commander. But I'm sure you'll still find some dealers that carry it. From what I know the command will defuel based upon a couple different settings.

But as for as the Scout, I just thought that was a gauge set and that it would not control anything.

 

i have been trying to find a dealer that still has commanders for sale no luck all the new ones are gone ,quad. stopped making them at the end of the year ,also if you go with a scout better check on trans. temp.monitoring some years of trucks its not availiable. There are lots of used commanders on any of the classifieds.With a scout it will just plug into your obd port so your x2 and your scout will be basically two seperate systems

 

If the Scout plugs into the obd port how would you be able to check egt's? I have a Commander and had to drill a hole in my manifold for the pyro.

 

Scout supposed to be able to accomodate EGT sensor...

Thank you all for the replies! I talked to QZ and ended up ordering a XZ-II/Commander combo (guess they have it on the shelf), and then I will RMA the existing XZ-II box.

Hopefully the AFE exhaust is in this weekend! Blade runner is another 2 weeks out.
