Quadzilla Commander, finding installer?

Any advice on finding someone to install a Commander near Moncure, NC 27559? I want to run a Smarty but advice leads me to believe I want something to monitor my systems too.

Thanks

I just installed one up here in Norfolk, VA. I'm not sure how far you are but bring your truck and some adult beverages and we'll get it in. Only takes about 2-3 hours with two of us taking our time.

Yup, mine took about 4 hours last night and I have about a half hour left. It went pretty quickly once I realized my 06 does not have a "Rubber Plug" in the fire wall. It is actually a molded plastic plug with two bolts molded into it. I removed that, drilled a 7/8" hole in it and ran all three cables through the hole, then re-installed the hole deal.

You'll be much more satisfied if you do it yourself, and surprised at how easy it is Im sure.

Do you need special tools, and whats the cost if you screw up?

I am still in the process of doing mine I broke the brass fittings and the Tran probe. But I am verry anal and didnt look right so I tighten it up to tight and couldnt get probe in the fittings, tried to force it and striped the threads. But I have a new one on the way. Just read the directions 1,2,3,4, times and uderstand it before you start. I think I could do it know in my sleep. The only thing I will not do is tap the EGT taking it to a shop to have them do that. Some electric tape, couple wrenches and a drill and bits and tap die is all you need to do it all.

Just take it one step at time and read through the directions. The only special tools you might need would be a 90degree drill if you put the pyro in the down tube of 5 & 6. If you do it like the instructions I don't think you will need one. Also a volt meter for the thermostat wire and a 1/8npt tap for the pyro probe.

When you drill your exhaust manifold go most of the way through then grease the bit and start the truck to finish the hole, this will blow all the metal shavings out and save your turbo.

I'm surprised yall say it took 4 hours. Didn't take us that long to install one on an 06.

Be warned....theres a ridiculus excess in wire. This is because the wiring is for all truck brands. You can shorten the wires as needed, just be careful. the excess wire annoyed my buddy so bad that at 3am we decided to shorten the wiring [laugh] After all of that, im kinda surprised it still worked [coffee]
