Is Quadzilla Commander almost ready to ship?

I got my Xzillaraider installed (nice, very nice ) so now I'm dying to get the Commander. Are they still going to be ready at the first of the month (May)?

....on a related note, I contacted Quadzilla in Nov 05 about getting the 3-stage setup for my truck, and was told that they would be ready around 1 Jan 06; At the end of Jan, that became 1 Mar....1 Mar became early Apr.....my last communication with them about 3 weeks ago yielded the same results, same story, "We're getting ready to ship, supplier problems are pretty much fixed, should be ready to ship within two weeks or so - would you like to pre-order one?"

Don't think so, thanks. Looking at the competitors now....

I hope the Commander you're looking for doesn't meet with the same seemingly endless and suspicious delays -

There are a couple of things to look at here.

First, the sales guys only know that we are working hard and trying to get it done. They don't know technically why anything gets delayed. The know when it is ready and when it is expeced to be ready to ship. No matter how much you tell them and how much explanation you give them they seem to come up with their own easy answer.

Now the reason it is delayed is because it is not perfect. We have it, it works extremely well, but about 10% of the trucks get a Crank Position Error. We have a little over 100 test units on trucks as we speak. The error does not affect peformance in the least bit, but until it is resolved we are not about to ship it. We believe we have it fixed, but we would rather error to the safe side and let plenty of trucks get plenty of miles on the newest revision.

So I could have you one on Tuesday if you want it, but there is a chance you will get an error. If you are ok with that, let me know who you want to buy from and I will ship it overnight on Monday. Just don't call whining if it is not 110% flawless.

Now why will it be worth the wait?

It provides comprable power to anything on the market for substantially less money. There is also an XZT module that provides a ton of torque gains at a very low price. Much lower than you will find anything that is close. It is also compatible with the Commander which is unique on its own. You can have the 2 work together, yet they operate on their own. There is a lot of merit to that design. It is also very reliable as far as the hardware is concerned. Similar products have some hardware issues due to the nature of parts that are required to do the job. It is not necessarily the manufactures doing a bad job, but they are older designs with older technology.

So if you want to wait that is great, if not then I fully understand. Also when they ask if you want to get on the early list, they are not going to charge you or anything, they just want to make sure that when they get released you are not waiting again. The list grows everyday.

As far as the Commander is concerned there are also a BUNCH of them in use. The production plastic was ready, but they used the wrong finish on the base. The main pastic is made of ABS and the base is made of polycarbonate so it requires different processes to have a lasting finish. We made our manufacture redo them.

Also we have been taking input from over 200 users and we have added and changed a few things.

The main change is the addition of an audible tone that can be used for alerts, de-fueling and for confirmation when navigating the menus. There is also a nice suprise for customers of a certain brand, but I cannot mention that until later next week when this suprise gets finalized. We also made a few wiring harness adjustments to make it easier to install for everyone.

Also remember that the final product works on 98-06 Dodges, 99-06 Fords, and 01-06 Dmax's without any additional parts. That is a lot of options under one parts number. You do not have to get it reflashed once you select one, you can simply go from one vehicle to another forever. It takes a little while of testing to get everyone of those users happy. I wished it was completed and over with, but it is a big project.

Hope that helps.

Go see if you'll get a detailed explanation like that from someone else you're gonna write off.

Of course, I'm biased, but even so, Quad is the best. Period. He won't let anything out until it is RIGHT. I'm not trying to be a smart***, but there is nothing suspicious about having delays in a piece of electronics which serves
multiple functions. We've been conditioned to believe that because everyone else would usually deserve suspicion, if it weren't Quad.

From day one this guy is #1 in service. He HAS had problems, including me, but I don't know of ANYONE he DIDN'T fix. My 100 hp box & truck run like a champ now, but it didn't at first.

I'm watching for the commander release and guarantee I'm gonna be gettin one. Do you want him to go ahead & sell it to you , even though there are known problems he is still working out? No. Didn't think so.

I appreciate the reply, and the honesty from Q-zilla.....perhaps your salesmen shuold be instructed a bit better in what is happening with a component? - and be completely candid when someone inquires as to the status....

- again, I appreciate the response...
