Well I got my XZT in the mail today and tried installing it tonight, but I ran into some problems. I got everything plugged in, and when I started the truck, it started to idle really rough like it was going to die. Then I took it all off and now when I start my truck it has a check engine light that comes on. Any ideas on what to do? Truck is a 2005 RAM3500. Thanks for the help.

 

First, did you check the blink sequence of your LED before you started your truck? This will start us in the right direction of troubleshooting.

Did you check the LED after the truck was running to see if it had a fault?

It sounds as if one of the rail pressure sensor plugs was plugged in backwards. The sypmtom you describe is usually a telltale sing of this.

You can check your codes by turning the key on and off 4 or 5 times fairly quickly. The codes will show up as P0XXX in the odometer window. This will also help troubleshoot your problem.

It comes up as a camshaft sensor code. My LED blinks green, orange, orange, green. Then when the truck is turned on it looks red.
