Quad Boost Fooler safe to use with Smarty??
Quad Boost Fooler safe to use with Smarty??
I am hoping for a clear answer on this issue because I haven't really found one as of yet. I've been told that the Smarty does not have the abilities to run more boost than stock, and I've been told the smarty will produce 40 psi on 04.5-06 trucks. Marco also seemed to make it sound like it's not a good idea to use the boost fooler w/ his programmer, but wasn't very clear. What's correct? Will a non-boost fooler equipped Smarty truck spike 40 psi and immediately defuel to get back down to the factory max 32 psi?? I just bumped my Smarty from SW5 to SW9, but I have left my boost fooler installed. Is it bad to leave it this way or is there no harm in keeping it installed?? Thanks!
running a boost fooler with smarty is fine, When you start stacking boxes is where the pressure's can get too high.
In fact we plan to include boost fooling in upcoming software updates for those who would like it.

Bob,
Thanks for the reply...just the info I wanted. Will the upcoming update essentially do the same thing as the quad boost fooler? (manipulate the MAP sensor signal), or will boost tables or actual "max boost" function be changed in the PCM programming? What I'm trying to get at is whether or not the software upgrade will be a better way to get past the max stock boost setting. Thanks!
