pyro went wacky

pyro went wacky

driving down the road the other day and the needle on pyro started shaking and now it stays pointed straight down doesnt move. Can the probe b cleaned or do i need a new one? Thanx

More than likely, it is a ground or power issue. Take your connections apart, clean them with some sand paper or a wire brush, apply some dielectric silicone, and the tighten them back up. See what happens.

What kind of gauge is it? Does it have a sending unit?

That really sounds like either the gauge is bad, (never really seen a pyro GAUGE die) or it is not getting power.

Its an auto meter pro comp series it has two wires from the prob, a red wire a black wire which i guess would be the power wires? and then two wires for the lights.
