Question Predator

Has anyone in stalled the Predator module? If so can you relate your experience with the product.

http://www.predatorpower.com/benefits.htm

I am wondering if it is really worth $300.00 and what "ill affects" , if any, have you experienced/

Cheers
Frank

Thank you for you reply. One further question, if I may

- does the Predator module live up to the benefits advertised by Predator Power?

Regards
Frank

PS. I spent some time, having a "coffee" with in the Tea Garden Restaurant in Mississippi City with a few SEABEES stationed at Gulfport in the early '60s

Yes it does hold-up to the power/fuel benefits advertised. The cool thing about the Predator is that it wont allow over-fueling, its programmed to shut-off if over-fueling starts (experience that feature climbing Baker grade long long pull).

I did my Seabee schooling in Gulfport.

Predator

I have one. It certainly increased the power of my '03, but... You have to watch your EGT. The Predator will take your Exhaust Gas Temperature way, way high. It will spike to well over 1400 degrees if you don't watch it. Meltdown City.

I've switched to the Banks system - It's attached to the thermocouple and will decrease the fuel output when the EGT gets to 1350. I still have my Predator module. It's a month old and I still have the box, the instructions and the nifty little decal if you're interested. Ping me off-list.

Hope this helps...

Pat

I had a Dr Performance Stage II (85hp/160fpt) for the HO 600 engine. It connected to the Fuel and Map connections.

I had it on for about a month. It definitely added HP and Torque. I did not get a chance to Dyno with the module on, but it did lower my 1/4 time by 1.2 seconds by itself.

It also caused rough idle, high EGTs and high boost (38-39psi). I didn't feel comfortable with these issues so I removed and returned it.

This was in September 2004, I see that they do not even list this module on the site anymore. It was Stage II part # 2017.

Thats my experience.

Speaking for an 03 here but I have a stage 1, It really woke up the truck. I have an auto and it actually shifts better and you don't have to get into the throttle near as much to make it go. I like it alot.

i have an 04.5 with the 2018 predator module and love it . i cant tell you a whole lot about fuel mileage gains because of my driving habits but the power sure is there. i have experianced no problems with it. you do have to watch the egt's they can get up there. by there dyno it added 112 hp and 226 fpt. i just added a new switch they have wich makes it adjustable on the fly from stock - 50 - 100 hp.

I have the stage 2 80hp,and I pull a 5th wheel it weighs loaded about 8500lbs no promblems and I set the cruise on 70 and you don't see much of a drop off on the hills. I've also pulled my buddies 5th wheel it tops out around 17500 and you hardly no you have the thing hooked up my friend was so impressed that he put a box on his!And I got a1 mile per gal increase .

These statements are true. The early Predators for the 04-04.5 did have problems with the software, but my understanding is that those were done away with and the new ones work b******. I've heard stories of 29mpg! I buy all my performance upgrades from a direct supplier for Predator so I get the low down on these things. I going to be adding their stage III injectors after Christmas.
