PICS of new staxxx
That is basically the same setup as mine but I used five inch in the bed and mounted it on top of an exhaust bushing under the driver's side of the pipe with a bolt down through it to tighten it to be level. Just make sure you take some five inch clamps and weld bolts on the backs of each and drill holes in front of each pipe to keep em from shakin the bottom pipe loose. No matter how good the weld is it may still break coming into the bottom of the cross pipe. I will try and get some pics on as soon as I can figure out my digital camera. Looks good nevertheless. As long as it is on a Dodge!
i put a little weep hole in the pipe underneath the truck. the rain can seep out of that or get BLOWN out...hehe. supertrucker, i used 4" because i had all the parts layin around the shop and i'm broke. however i was thinking of changing to 5" in a wek or two. think its worth it? i can tell the truck has more backpressure now as it has a little more low end power around town, but gettin on the freeway takes a bit more throttle. would 5" be louder? deeper? smoother? also, what are your thoughts on the T setup i have versus a premade 180* split?

more backpressure = less pressure differential across turbine = slower spooling. how's that make it feel more peppy???

nice rig
i honestly dont know how it makes it feel more peppy, but it does, my dads 2nd gen felt the same way when we went from a straight pipe back to a muffler. when i first bought my truck i just chopped off the muffler and noticed a little less low end power, but much more up high. i dunno, i'm not a turbo guru, anyone have any input?
Let me ask you this, does it sound like the same raspy noise as when it was just straight piped through the stock location or does it sound like a big rig? If it sounds like a big rig already I wouldn't worry too much about changin it to 5 inch. Mine got a lot deeper sounding than when it was just straight piped. It may just be the stacks that change it but I know on my old powerjoke when I changed the size of the pipe all together it got about twice as loud. And on the subject of water, do you realize how much rain it would take to fill these things?
I would say over five gallons, maybe more. The only thing that you have to really worry about would be where the stacks and pipe connect only if you clamped em like I did so I could change em. They get tight as all get out after a while. One other thing, to make it look good, go to a hardware store and buy high temperature paint that you use on grills. I gotta get pictures on here before long
