if you look at the wire gauge of the fuse holder, it is plenty big enough also.

and the Diodes should handle it, no problem

you can try the 55 watt side lights, I doubt the fuse will blow, if it does, go grab a variety pack of the glass fuses, and go up till it works.

Mark, i did not put 3 legs on yours (i made Sub's with 3 legs off the relay output for his side lighting)

you could just pull the blue wire off the relay, and cut the 2 wires, and tie in a 3rd wire, and crimp on a new terminal, and be good to go.

you don't necessarily need a diode on that leg - because it's independent of the vehicles wiring.

if you do mess up your module, i will send you another one.

i figure it like this: lifetime warranty as long as we are on the forum together, i will take care of it for you.
Nice.. now thats customer service I will get my front bumper and fog lights installed and then I will install my perimeter lighting hopefully this week.

still got a few of these.

lady at church, her car died in the subdivision last nite,
backed truck up to it, pushed on Cargo light,

opened tail gate, laid out all tools on tail gate,
it will cast enough glow on tail gate to pick up stuff, then you hold it by back up to what size wrench it is.

nice to leave flashlites under hood while hunting a left handed metric monkey wrench

lit area up nice for us to see to walk around, without everyone stealing my work flashlights to see to walk around.

didn't get the fanbelt back on, but it did make it a bit easier.

and lit up front so some nimrod would not pile into us.

Hey 04Cctd,

not sure if you know this but you can get a doubled sided board done pretty cheap. LIke $20. Once you've made all your connetions, cover it with conformal coating and it's weather proof. Plus you could solder the diodes on the board instead of having them hanging in line. If you want I could help you refine your design a bit.

Cool mod.

I think he looked into having a PC board made up but it ended up too pricey? (could be wrong, been following this thread for a while)
Having a little module you mount somewhere with just the wires coming out of it would sure be cool though.

yeah, a few pages back, i went to a Mil Spec guy to have it made like you said, on a PC board, all covered & sealed. he wanted a bucket of money.

i must apologize, i may not have loaded up a new picture of the production relay.

the parts i have pictured earlier were "pre production prototype" for testing.

My ugly things works great - but not as good as the production module.

the Mil Spec guy I went to really stepped up the specifications and OVERBUILT the module, it is a lot tougher than my double relay unit,

the single relay in the production module has 50 amp capability (the cheesy ones in Auto Parts stores are 15 amp) and the Power Diodes are out of some sort of motor generator, with like 50 amp surge capability.

here is a picture before the heat shrink was applied to the diodes, and remember the blue wire is several feet long on each leg, and the white wire is not crimped on, you have to run it thru the firewall, and then crimp it and put it on the relay.

it is a good looking module when installed, i apologize if i never updated the picture. maybe that's why no else bought any?

I can vouch for 04ctd, I bought and installed this, and it mounts under the hood by the fuse compartment, not very noticeable and works GREAT!!! If you are looking for this type of mod, this is the way to go, plus if you need help on the install, give him a shout, he's a great guy and will help you out. I love this mod on my truck!!

x2 what txfiremedic said I love this mod and 04CTD really made it easy to get done. He even customized mine so that I could run some side lights. I will post pics as soon as I get those lights wired right now though it works great and my wife loves it at night in a parking lot! Soon these trucks will probably come this way...

so for now, it's 06 only.
04ctd,

Will this work on 07's? specifically early model 07's, mine was bought in December, not sure of build date. I am interested if it would work.

i am sure it will, if they have the same button on the dash for the cargo light.

watch your cargo light, and see what it does on a unlock command from the remote, it is PERFECT for this type of deal.

i agree with SubSpeed - the wife LOVES it.

i will pull some 07 drawings and look at them.

if you will put it in quick (not like LazyWillys) I will send you one for free, with the instructions, to try out and report back. PM me if interested.

I could probably get it installed the first weekend after you get it to me... would i have to worry about any warranty issues? Or is it easy to take off if need be? PM me if you want a number or email to get me at.
