painting my headlights?

How hard is it to pull apart the headlights and paint the inside black and put it back together?

I bought mine, found them on ebay. Had a differnt set before, those funky ones, they were crap, the ones I have now are like stock but all black where the chrome normally is

I did mine a while back. Its not to tuff to do. I baked them in the oven on low for a few min, then simply pulled them apart. The only hard part is getting the old glue off (nasty stickey stuff). If i can find my memory card ill get some pics for you guys.

Acook, I may be comming down to Denver on the 27 you could check them out in person.

Its not the same with the 06 headlights. Its been tried and you cant get them apart without damaging things. You might try buying a spare light off of Ebay and trying it for yourself. Ive thought about doing this even though its supposedly not doable. I just need to see for myself. But i would hate for you to try it, thinking it would be the same as the 03-05, and then ruin a headlight.

I have to run right now, but have talked with the tech from Dodge about this. I will post in about an hour when I am back!

Ok, I'm back.

What I found out from the tech is that the '07 headlights do exist and they are minus the amber strip at the bottom (solving 1/2 the problem) which only leaves the side amber marker. If you heated the assembly up, it should pull apart allowing access to the amber marker where it could be either changed or more easily just painted black. What the tech is checking into is whether or not, they could send the headlight assembly back to the manufacturer to have it "re-sealed" so that you wouldn't have to worry about moisture. I should have the answer this week. If not, smoking your headlight lenses may be your only option.
