offset pics
I'm looking at putting some 17x10 with a -38mm offset. Anyone have something close to that they can show me a pic of how far it sticks off. calculations show 4 inches out from stock, and I've got flares, but I don't want to look crazy out. My stocks actually tuck in the flares too much, so I do want to come out some, but is 4" too much

I believe my Helo Maxx 8's are a -12 and the top of the tire meets up perfectly with the top of my Bushwacker Pocket Style Flares...... I'll try and get a pic of mine in a bit

His are Helo max 8's, not 8" wide wheels. If yours are 10" wide and a negative 38 off set those will really stick out far. I put on 20X9 with a positive 10 offset and they stick out 2.5 to 3 inches more than stock.

No I don't have pics of 17X10 wheels, but I could send you some of my 20's through my cell phone if you want. I have no idea how to post pics on here. How wide do your flares stick out? If they are 2.5" to 3" flares then sticking a 4" wider wheel and tire combo would look good imo. I would just worry about rubbing with wheels that wide unless you have a good sized lift.

My wheels were flush with the fenders but since I put on the flares they are 2 inches inside so if I go with 17 x 10 then they'll be 2 outside the flares and I don't know if I'll like it that's why need to see a picture

if u have stock wheels now 17x8 and u want 17x10 the wheel will only be 1" closer to parallel with the fender. the difference of 2" is counted on both sides of the rim. 1" on the front and 1" on the backside. what u want is a bigger offset to stick that rim out more. but beware bigger offset causes more stress on front components.

Ok guys. No offense, but stop with the opinions and education. I know a 17x10 with the offset stated is nearly 4 inches out. 07bighoenram, you are incorrect. It is not evenly divided on the space. The 17x8 is an offset of +40 and the 17x10 I'm looking at are -38. Please only post if you have a pic as requested. I need to SEE what it looks like. Thanks
Anything 2 inches outside of flares is fine. Doesn't have to be 17s

You are correct, they don't add 2 to the outside. It's an inch plus and minus center. But where it bolts up is 78mm off of stock. From a plus 40 to a negative 38. So it's 78mm offset difference plus the 1" from going to a 10. Hope that clears it up. So anybody with pics?

I can post a picture tomorrow. Yesterday I put a set of 18x9" XD Series wheels with 35x12.5x18 Toyo M/T's on my truck. The wheels have a -12 offset. They look very aggresive but the outside edge of the tire sticks out 3.5" from the top of the wheel well. I will now have to buy flares which I didn't really want. They stick out a little more then I would have liked.
I don't have a picture of the wheel by itself but can take one of the finished product if you would like, with tires mounted. I just have to wait till tomorrow afternoon.
