Yes there is. Rotella or Delo or a few others. I use the Delo 400 myself.

Yes! It does have to be oil specified for Diesels... Delo and Rotella are good oils. If you're new here, try a search on oils and you will find a million opinions! I mention it to give you a good start to diesel education. We call it CTD U.

I run Royal purple 15-40. It is ci-4 plus and meets cummins 20078 engine oil specifications. I have used it the life of the truck with no problems.

YES!!! Oil for gas engines and diesel are not made the same. Specifically, Diesel oil is formulated to hold soot in suspension and the detergent and lubrication additives are different to combat the different acids produced by each.

YOu can go with Delvac or Premium Blue or Delo or Rotella or whatever... as long as it is Diesel oil Rated CJ-4 or CI-4.

If you like premium synthetics then there are a number of them. Royal Purple, redline, Amsoil, I use Shaeffers 9000. And more than I list here too...

Really-- I encourage you to do a thread search here and read the oil wars!! Best thing you can do to start out here.

3 gallons /12-13 quarts. Make sure you fill the filter to the top FIRST before putting it on. You do not want to drystart the turbo, big no-no.

Oil is rated for API service, it'll be on the label, unless its Amsoil. An oil rated for a diesel will have an API classification like CF, CH, CG-4 or such as that. Oil rated for a gasoline engine will have its rating start with a S, like SF, SJ, SL. The "C" denoting compression ignition (diesel) and the "S" spark ignition. Not good to run oil rated for a gas engine in a diesel. Some oils lik eRotella T are rated for both.
Read your owners manual and see what it calls for and match it up. You won't go wrong with Shell Rotella, Delavac, Ursa, Fina, Exxon.
