New tires and leveling kit....

Saturday morning im gonna get the 315 B.F.G's with the 2" leveling kit.Im sure i will lose some performance with my 3.73's but now i can justify the Edge box! ;D ;D

I finally saw one in person with 315's and the level. Boy did it make the truck look a fair amount bigger. I was surprised at the difference. It looked really good.

I bet your leveling kit cost more than Fencebuilders.. [laugh]
I like the look with the larger tires.

Love the look of the leveling kit and larger tires...but...

1.) What brand of leveling kit seems to work the best?
2.) What about alignment and shock issues?
3.) After figuring for the tire size difference, what is the mileage difference? (I have a 6 speed and Edge EZ)
4.) Is the there an noticible difference in power..or lack of?

Inquiring minds need to know.....

I too am interested in the answers to Wizards questions. I have also been looking at the 3" procomp kit. But I say $900 vs $180 and I can't decide. I really like the tire selection in 35/12.5/17 size compared to the 315/70/17. Has anybody tried the 35's with the 2" kit?
Thanks Jason

Where would one get a leveling kit and how much do they cost? I have the 315's on my rig now. Get a little tire rub at full lock... Speedo is off by 5MPH and a little less fuel economy...

You guys realize that you can't go by the mileage on the odometer, right??

With the bigger tires, Everything is off, by about 10%; If you're going to calculate your mileage, you've got to take into account this 10% error to come up with actual miles driven.

That's why I'm so glad to have found a mechanic who can adjust the revs per mile to what they're supposed to be...

Right on the money, now! ;D

Re:New tires and leveling kit....

Total cost was $952.00 at my local Les Schwab which included the 2" leveling kit and 4 each 315/70/17 B.F.G. mounting and balancing with the lifetime road hazard, flat repair. No doubt my computer is off now,i can feel the power loss for sure since i have the 3.73 rear end,i figure im in the 3.50 range now, give or take.Im going to look into the Edge here pretty quick to replace what i lost.Is it general rule of thumb that you HAVE to run gauges with the Edge?Im not towing much lately but i dont want my E.G.T. to be a problem. Also need to look into recalibrating the speedo/computer.

I'm running 35's without a leveling kit (General Grabber MT's Load range D). I get a little rub at full lock with a bump too, but it's not bad. I've got American racing 17inch wheels and it looks great ;D, but it roars. It really roars when I'm towing. I can't tell a difference in power, because I bought the truck from the dealer with the wheels and tires (Demo). If it's that noticable of a difference in power with smaller tires then I'll be amazed, because this truck is strong. I'm pretty sure my next set will be the same size, looks awesome, but will not be as aggresive. My next major purchase for the truck is gauges and then on to the power.

I'll try to get a picture up sometime this weekend. I've been wanting to do it, but just haven't had the time. The picture at the top looks good, but my tires still look bigger (maybe the tread) and he was in sand. The best part of all about these tires is I can still get into my garage at the house and at work. It's REALLY close, but I can do it. I'll get something up for you to see.
