New Smarty program(lacks some power)

Has anyone noticed a loss of power in the mid RPM range on the newest mild TM program?(level 5 on SMARTY), I did a little roll on the throttle today on level 5 about 55-60mph, and my truck felt almost stock w/ no smoke?? The last(previous new program)program(level 5) smoked like crazy and pulled hard all throughout the power band. I think I'm going back to it. Has anyone else noticed this in an auto???????????????????

I thought the same thing! I ran level 7 at first and was disappointed. The original program seemed to have more power

When you say original program do you mean the program it comes with or do you have to download that when you get your smarty? Im planning on ordering mine pretty soon.

Mine is on the way, ordered it today. I was planning to run it a while before I downloaded anything anyway. Think I will just follow that plan and wait to see how this thread goes before downloading.

low on power? 505hp,1021tq on tuesday, seems to provide plenty. do you have supporting mods? possibly running out of fuel under serious load? my smarty seems pretty brutal.

How about at a 65-70mph roll on, thats where I feel the difference. I hit it and the boost gradually climbs slowly to about 28-29, then it starts to pull real hard again all the way to 34-35 psi 1400* or so.

Your out of fuel....that is your lift pump trying to catch up.

ON LEVEL #5??????? I've seen it on the higher levels, but not on #5.

you have 2 programmers and 2 modules on that truck? out of fuel, and the smarty probably doesnt like fighting with the bddl. at any speed, any gear, i floor it, black smoke and quick boost to 50 psi. the l/p is hurting you, and how is your fuel filter?

No, these are all the mods I own(not in use), I am only asking about the Smarty #5 w/ no other fuel modifiers in use(sorry I wasn't more clear). My Quad race is on the truck but I leave it off unless I get a challenge. I have a custom walbro/big line and 2mic filter kit ready to install, I've just never had the Smarty run out of fuel on this level.

i experienced the same things your talking about, but they all went away after I put on my Walbro...

I have had my Smarty CR06 for about a week and have tried the #3 with advance, and the #5 with advance. #5 on an otherwise stock truck pulls like a train through 90 mph. I cannot address old programs, but this thing rocks. I like the fact it does not pour huge clouds of black smoke...Kinda like the golfers say... Drive for show, putt for dough. Personally I do not care if it is blowing bubbles so long as it pins me in the seat.

the factory lift pumps are marginal even with the fueling in stock form. install the new setup and give her heck. you will be pleased.

tcr,
Did the boost level change with the newer version program? And do you run a boost elbow?

Mikey, No and no.
We got the new Walbro LP w/big line and 2mic filter kit on. Running roughly 40psi to the CP3. Still a dead spot from 26-29 psi then look out, 30-34 psi pulls really hard all the way to 110mph. This thing pulls MUCH harder now on the top end, BUT there's still the dead spot from 2000-2300rpm. What's up w/ this???
