We have winter blended fuels here out West. We DEFINETLY loose at least one mpg when we use it. Maybe that's your loss too???? (We have no choice--we have to use it )

Excellent follow-up. I personally appreciate the time you've put into "our" project....

Not a Problem on all the testing and data information for OUR project. I feel that everyone on here that is looking into buying a XZT should have the information at hand that they need in making the decision to purchase one. If I had to do it again would I????? Yes-----I understand that there are many variables that come into play while running up and down the road with something in tow. 1mpg either way will not sway my interest in wanting and having something that will help my truck perform better and work easier for the long haul. I know for a fact that the XZT makes the power where it is needed for Towing-----And that is what QuadZilla has it labeled for!------MPG increase with just the Chip= Probably not, but as long as it dosent eat my MPG up while driving too and from work I'm fine. And if it does then I will just leave it unplugged until I need it for towing!
**I will be buying the Commander so that I can have the 3 different power levels and be able to turn the XZT off when I dont need it!

What? Did I miss another informative slice of info? Could it be true?

Tell me it's true?

Yes it is true

Although, I think it depends on how up to date the specific xzt module is.

Even if it is an older one we can update it.

Ptgarcia is correct. This only happens if you plug the Commander into it.

Red face

------ Man, driving this truck around stock is already getting old ! Programmers/Chips are bad, bad, bad, !!!!! Once you Pop--- you cant Stop ! I'm not sure if I can handle running this tank out with the truck in Stock Mode. Can we say PIG! When I first bought the truck I was like --- Man what Power these things have!!! Now after running the XZT for a couple of weeks and unplugging it I'm not real thrilled driving the truck. Of course I knew this the second I pulled out onto the interstate with the Boat in tow coming home this weekend.

The Commander gives you the option to enable cold engine protection when hooked to a module. Basically you set the desired water temp and when you reach it the module will turn on. It is a little more complicated on the back end than that to make it a smooth transition but, that is basically how it works in a nutshell.

BoostJunkie,

What version software are you running? At one point we had the cold engine protection where it would basically invert the screen until you came out of warm up mode. This is much like a warning screen without it blinking. This was meant to inform the user that he was in warm up mode.

We have since gone away from this so I am not sure why you have it?

Another thing that comes to mind. If it is really cold you are leaving the key on for a little while before starting it? See how high your egt goes up to and if it starts to flash a warning before you actually start the truck.

I have actually only seen this twice and it was in testing but, I have never heard of it happening in the field. Anyhow it is a bug we found although it has no bad implications. We are fixing it as we work on the latest version which should be out in a day or two. Yes I know another version but, as you get thousands out there you slowly find small annoyances that happen. Anyways, what happens is that you go into a warning/de-fuel mode when the egt counts way up. For some reason if the egt goes really high it causes the old portion of the warm up code to come out.

Now once you hit your set warm up temperature everything goes to normal. Or if you turn the key off and then back on it also goes away.

I am curious as to if you have a really old version or if you actually had the bug come out? Either way the new version will have addressed this.
