New 3rd Gen 1/4 Mile Record

A new door has been opened for daily driven, and daily worked 3rd gen Cummins trucks to be racing machines

Dec. 12 in baytown, there was a new record set for a third gen Cummins in the 1/4 mile by a towing work truck.

Jason Read with his 03, 4wd, 4 door, Automatic went 12.85 @104.11 sunday afternoon. Boost was 56psi, egt's did not got much over 1100 and never saw 1150, and he did it on diesel only, no nitrous or propane.

Jason is running custom Relentless Diesel super spool twin turbos, DTT transmission parts, Diesel Dynamics injectors, MBRP exhaust,. and lots of other goodies

This truck is a daily driver and work truck, it tows 12,000 to 16,000 on a regular basis while being as reliable as a stock truck and pulling 12 second 1/4's all day long.

There will be a profile on Jason's 03 at Relentless Diesel in the next couple of days. There will be more info, pictures, time slips, and video clips of Jason's impressive truck.

I hate to be the one to burst anyones bubble here but I've run faster then that. My truck doesn't tow that much but it does get driven nearly every day and tows the toys around on occasion. My best time is 12.83 @ 106mph with my '04.5 as it states in my signature.

Seriously, what do you guys do for a living that you can buy an '04.5 and immediately put 10 grand worth of mods on it?

special financing, single, good job.extra stuff laying around to sell on ebay,2nd or 3rd mortgage, credit card. thats about all you need to have $10,000 to drop into the motor right after you buy it. If your married then you will also need a wife that sees the importance of a high quality, fire breathing piece of machinery.

Wish weather would be good so I could get mine to the track with the right tire and wheel combo and the twins properly tuned.

Best 1/4 mile with a single was 13.51 @ 100mph. Twins added about 70hp with the same fueling. I hope to be also get in the high 12s soon.
