I'm wiring a CB in my '03. I want it to go on when I turn the ignition to accessory or run the truck. Where can I find a hot wire under the dash that goes off when I turn on the ignition/accessory switch? What color is it?

 

There are 2 12 volt ignition accessory wires one is GREEN and one is ORANGE they are both in the ignition harness near the steering column under the dash. These are the 2 wires I had to connect my remote starter to to activate the heater/ac controls and they are both key on or key in accessory position hot. Hope this helps.

 

I ended up running mine hot all the time. I ran it right to the battery. I was getting a little interferance when i ran it thru the trucks wiring.

 

The upper cig lighter is a keyed hot. Pull the front dash panel to access it. I run my Sirius off of it...Mike

 

There is a heavy 12 or 14 gauge Blue wire that goes to a plug in type circuit breaker located above the emergency brake pedal area that is hot W/Ign. It is the Hot wire for the power windows, plenty of juice for CB, etc.
