Changing head gasket on 2005 dodge 3500 Cummins and the previous owner had the head machined and installed fire rings.. I have no way of finding out what size rings he had installed or what I need to order they are 4.550 rings but having a hard time figuring out what thickness to order Haisley kits come in .105 and .118.. my rings are at .092 after been crushed and ran in the truck for years. Is there a way to figure out by the groove depth what these started out as? And I know fire rings are not what I want in a dd truck but the way I see it now I have no choice with out buying a new head correct? Also they are only machined into the head not the block

 

I wish I had some experience with this but unfortunately I do not I`m sure many will chime in and help.
